Umm... The leather Selle Anatomica saddles need zero break-in. I once did a double century on a brand new Selle Anatomica saddle after a day or two of dialing in the saddle positioning and tensioning of the leather. Maybe do a bit more research before making sweeping claims.

What are your thoughts on this Duverge 2016? I had one just like that and it was one of the best bikes I owned... I remember it being SO comfortable and also fast! I moved from that to a Tarmac and (hard to believe) it seemed the diverge 2916 was faster.. I think the geometry of the initial diverge were closer to the "race bikes". Would love your thoughts on this! Your contente is getting better and better BTW! Kudos!

This is exactly why I went for the Flatbar Gravel Bike with front air suspension and remote lockout as a "sport" bike (next to a folding trekking (and winter) e-bike I already had). For me, it absoultely nails it for the environment I live in, which is very hilly, has pretty bad road surfaces, lot's a gravel roads and an abundance of not too aggressive single trail. It's got a complete XT setup (literally EVERYTHING is XT, drive train, brakes, axles, even the speed locks) with a super capable 3x10 drive train, so it literally can go as fast as I am able while being able to climb up almost everything. The suspension fork makes it capable of tackling terrain on which a normal Gravel would just suffer too much (me included), and because of the remote lockout, I can lock the front while riding, so I won't waste energy when climbing up steep hills. I can even lower the front by putting weight on the fork and locking it in place in a sagged state, improving my aerodynamics before a large decent on pavement. It kinda sounds too good to be true, and I was really suprised how well this worked out in real life. It's got the perfect balance of being agile and super fun to drive, while staying true at 30mph+. It does all that while weighing in at 28lbs, that is until I fitted a parallelogram seat post (yes, it's not sporty, but I really don't wanna miss it). And because it's not as hip as a "real" Gravel Bike (those Flatbar Gravel Bikes used to be called cross bikes or ATBs until recently I think, and it's been a while since they've been cool), it was considerably (!) less expensive as any Dropbar Gravel with a comparable level of kit.

Great review! Salsa does not provide the weight on its website. I think of two possible reasons. First, their manufacturing variance is too big. Due to low standard quality control, Salsa cannot post a reasonable weight. Two, Salsa is ashamed of its weight. Cutthroat doesn't have a suspension, but perhaps it weights as much as or more than a lightweight hardtail. That what I deduce from the lack of the weight spec. I had interest on Cutthroat, but not anymore.

My first century was supposed to be a 130 miler, I made it 110 albeit very slowly because I was with bonking all afternoon in a headwind out on the coast near Monterey, CA. I had to stop before the campground finish because it was getting dark and the wifey had to leave camp to come rescue me. Still haunts me ten years on lol However, the worst bonk I every experienced was a trail running race in the alps in February. Snowing at -15° C and not properly clothed nor nourished...worst three hours of my life. 24km later, I couldn't eat, didn't want to talk and was basically just numb. We had a get together with friends that night and that was when my appetite came roaring back and I devoured ALL the food ! 😅 Great video as always, love you content. Thanks Dustin

I avoid anything that uses GPS. I do XC, and even when I used to road ride to my village, for my enjoyement and exercise, I use old school wired and wireless button battery computers (quality 2nd handies and NOS ones)...regardless of advertising channels like this that try to influence folks to buy these ridiculously over-priced GPS ones.

20 mile mountain bike ride in Gatineau park. Add one 12 ounce water bottle, one orange and extreme humidity and heat equals extreme nausea and the shakes. Fortunately after one or two bites of the orange everything stabilized and was back in action. Oh I miss my 20s resilience. Loved the cell phone cut movie. So creative.

So, many BB's can be removed with a large wrench or pipe tool (threaded vs. press fit). Most BB's are cheap and work very well. It's a 15 min job and good to know. For $230 you can replace your bearings many times. Just sayin.

I’ll be fine! 50 miles later I can’t maintain 10 mph and wonder if I can get about 10 miles back. I’ve never felt like this. Barely got back to my truck, I had driven to the start point. After a long sit I try to drive back home but end up pulling off and puking in a mall parking lot with my extremities going numb. Took awhile to get over this one. We will call it a learning experience.

I feel these guys and hear what they're saying. I'd like to see a video showing the other side of the coin...like, "What should a bike shop ALWAYS do for a customer". My #1 beef with some bike shop bros is the attitude that "I'm way more into bikes than you because I work here and I'm going to tell you that you're wrong on everything that you think you need". They want to be appreciated and respected, but it goes both ways and far too often have I taken my business elsewhere because some bike shop bro was a total elitist a-hole to me.

Most bike mechanics are full of themselves and arrogant. Unless your dressed like they think you should be dressed like they treat you like shit and TALK DOWN TO YOU. Sell you something that wont otherwise sell because you don't know what the latest greatest thing in everything IS. So ask there opinion ,bad bad mistake and they'll lie and sell you that item that nobody buys because it's junk. But they'll look you right in the eye and scam you. I LEARNED TO DO MY OWN WORK SO I DON'T EVER EVER HAVE TO FORCE MYSELF NOT TO BEET THIS SO CALLED BIKE MECH ABOUT THE HEAD. YES MAY HAVE SAVED YOUR LIFE. DO MY OWN WORK NEVER WILL I TALK TO A BIKE MECH. IR WALK INTO A BIKE SHOP. AND LIFE ONCE AGAIN IS HEAVEN. EVERYONE OF YOU CAN GO POUND SAND.. LMAO

I like group and solo, just kind of depends what I'm doing, why I'm doing it, etc. During the week I'm usually solo. My pace, my exercise. But on the weekend I like groups. It pushes my limits, see new lines to take, and new places to visit.
